The clock, as an object or concept has inspired designers, artists and poets from all over the world. Moreover, clock is placed in the most prominent place in a room, so it has to be well-designed and in coordination with the overall style of the room. In this article, we selected some of the most elegant clocks with neutral, yet eye-catching design.
- The Unfinished clock by Thelermont hupton. This object is an unusual version of a classic clock. The clock is only the top half, so in order the handles to fully rotate the clock has to be placed at the edge of a shelf or other horizontal surface.
Dining chairs along with the dining table are the basic pieces of furniture in a dining room. Yet, it is not necessary the table and the chairs to have the same style or to purchase them from the same store. You can even decide to modernize the style of the dining room by simply changing the chairs and keeping the table.
We have selected and present you some of the most elegant and well-designed dining chairs.
- Oak veneer dining chair/Habitat. Designed by Mike Holland and Dmitri Warner the Ply oak veneer dining chair is a deceptively simple design that combines a comfortable plywood seat and slender, solid oak legs. Seat height= 45 cm.
The Baldessari siblings have excelled in design once again with the new release of their SeiPerSei (SixTimesSix) pouf. After designing an extra large peg (Molletta), their new piece is a hexagonal volume inscribed within a diameter of 140 cm (in the maxi version) and 90 cm (in the mini version).
Although, the terms “organic”, “sustainability” and “eco-friendly” are appreciated in medicine and food, the same principles are rarely placed on the furniture and decorative items. It is also true that a lot of furniture is made with toxic materials and unhealthy finishes. The bed we sleep on, the sofas and couches, are made with chemicals and materials that are harmful to our health and environment. The good news is that several manufacturers are producing various sustainable products, with methods and procedures that save energy and do not pollute the environment.
Children's beds come in many styles, shapes and forms and in the market you can find a large variety of single beds for kids. Many of them have an eye-catching style, like for example the theme beds or the loft beds. Kids love colors and extraordinary designs and usually opt for those pieces of furniture that are impressive but not always practical, safe or sturdy. Sometimes, beds with impressive design and excessive decoration cost more to manufacture and the manufacturer chooses to compromise the quality in order to lower the cost.
It is true, that many interior designers suggest for the kid's bedroom, the purchasing of a minimalist bed, with neutral and unisex style. The advantages of a minimalist bed are mostly two:
- A bed with a simple style will withstand changes to setting and taste as your child grows. Most of these beds are suitable for the toddler, the teenager, even for the student.
- Minimalist beds are multi-functional. For a kid, the bed is not only a place to sleep, but also a place to play, to daydream, to read a book, to jump into, to seat with friends. So, the design of the bed should be as simple as possible and allow the child to use it as a sofa or as a trampoline.
