“How would you like your steak?” “Decorated!”
The DRESSED collection, conceived by world-known designer Marcel Wanders for the Italian company ALESSI, is a brand new way of cooking and serving with style.
Dutch designer Marcel Wanders has made 'new decoration' one of his hallmarks, using it unconventionally and often applying it to areas of the objects which are partially or even completely hidden.
This creates an enjoyable, multi-sensory experience when using them.
The series, which include a complete table setting in white porcelain, a cutlery set in 18/10 stainless steel, glass sets in crystal, various serving accessories and two collections of pots and pans, is called DRESSED precisely because the decoration, like a beautiful dress, should be designed to bring out the contents, without being overpowering.
His designs are rich and expressive, somewhere between floral and baroque, but the collection maintains an elegance and lightness.
The 2012 set of DRESSED cookware is the first, in the history of ALESSI, to be conceived exclusively in aluminium with a non-stick coating from the outset. The finely decorated lids and handles in stainless steel are “made in Alessi’, with an exclusive deep drawing and coining technique developed at the company's headquarters.
The bodies of the pots in the DRESSED 2012 set are made of aluminium with high-quality non-stick Teflon Platinum Plus coating. The magnetic steel bottom is also suitable for cooking on induction plates. The grill pan is distinguished from the other pieces in the collection by the decoration in relief on the bottom, which imprints itself on the cooked food.
Although hidden in barely visible parts of the object, such as under the handles and the bottoms, the decoration of these cooking utensils helps to turn the kitchen into an increasingly user-friendly space.
Following the first range of aluminium, non-stick kitchenware presented in autumn 2012, the DRESSED cookware range introduced in spring 2013 also features new products made from stainless steel, with a magnetic base which makes them suitable for use on any heat source, including induction plates. Added to these cooking utensils, there are also the colander and the pierced basket for the pasta-set, both in stainless steel.
Decorated in this way, the DRESSED pots not only make the kitchen more stunning, but they are also perfect for taking straight to the table.
