Reader's question:
"The furniture in my bedroom (wardrobe, bed and bedside tables) are dark wood. In the living and dining room the wooden furniture are dark and the two sofas are red (the tone of watermelon). What colors to pick for the walls of my bedroom and living room?"
Reader's question:
"Can I paint the already painted cabinet doors and how? I want to change their color to look like wenge wood. If I cover those surfaces with paper wallpaper, could I remove the wallpaper later?"
Reader's question:
I renovate my apartment. The kitchen and living room are combined. The flooring is dark brown laminate (it has a rustic appearance). In the living room there is a wall, 6 meters long and I am planning to place a large and high piece of furniture (something like a bookcase) with the TV. The cabinet doors of the kitchen will be white. The apartment is north and there two balcony doors (the openings of the doors are 2 meters and 1 meter). However I am afraid that the natural light will not be sufficient and the room will be dark. Can you give me some advice on the wall colors."
"I want to paint my house but I don’t know which color is best for each room.
The kids’ bedroom furniture is in natural beech with navy blue curtains. Two boys and a girl 7-5-1 year old share the room. What color and what wall-style would you suggest?
The bedroom closets are gray, the furniture in cherry wood and the curtains are white with pale blue and pink flowers. In the open living room kitchen the dominant colors are blue, gray and wenge. However I would like to add one more color. What color purple excluded do you advice? Many thanks”
Our recommendations
Children room
We propose a two colors combination for the nursery, as it is used by boys and girl. The first color without being girly is off-white with a subtle yellow for suspicion space. The second color - sweet pale blue with accents of pale gray brightens the nursery.
You can alternate the two colors on the three walls and on the fourth you can make medium size stripes with these two colors.
Reader’s question
" I have a problem because lack of space and I would really appreciate your help. I have a small living room with a dining room nook area. What shape dining table would accommodate the maximum number of people? Does a corner sofa fit in the living room? Could we have a small low TV stand in the room? Thank you so much!”
Our recommendations
The amount of people that can be seated at each table depends on the shape and size of the dining table. The size and shape of the table must follow the shape of the room, a square or round table looks best in a room with equal dimensions, while the long tables work best in rectangular rooms.
