Cupboards, drawers and shelves should suit both women and men.

Women average height = 1.65m / Men average height = 1.74m.

  • The maximum upward reach for a woman when there is a counter is around 1.95m. In general, heights between 0.75m and 1.60 are comfortable to reach. 
  • A toe recess should not be less than 0.10m height
  • The standard worktop height is 0.90m
  • Wall cupboards should not be fixed lower that 0.40m above a counter and the ideal maximum width is 0.40m.

While there are similarities between an interior decorator and an interior designer and while many people confuse their careers, there are essential differences between the two. Of course, those differences do not denote necessarily that the one is superior to the other. Although, there is overlapping between the two careers, every professional, either decorator of designer, is responsible for the quality of it's work and it is on it's own hands to make its work valuable and useful.
