If you still have vinyl records and you don't use them anymore for listening music don't throw them away. You can reuse them and make a dozen of functional or decorative projects. One of our favorite projects is the retro style wall clock. For this project we reused a Rolling Stones vinyl record.
For the project you'll need :
- One old vinyl record. Make sure the record is not collectible.
- A clock mechanism with clock fingers.

The process is really simple since the vinyl record has already a hole in its center. However, you need to make this hole a bit larger. Pick a knife, pass it through the hole and turn it around several times until the hole becomes large enough to fit the mechanism.
Pass the mechanism through the hole and screw the metal ring to secure it in place.
Attach the clock fingers. To make the fingers more visible and stylish we cut paper circles out of red paper using a common perforator. Then we glue these circles on the edges of the fingers.
