What paint color to pick for my apartment walls to compliment with white furniture?

Reader’s question

"We are currently doing a remodel on our apartment. We have decided to choose white pieces of furniture for every room (kitchen, living and dining room). Moreover, we have chosen tile flooring in ecru throughout the apartment. We are wondering what color we should choose for the walls. Could we also choose white color for the walls?"

Our recommendation

White walls perfectly match the white furniture and create a serene, homogeneous space with unique simplicity, smooth contrasts, where there is nothing distracting.

On the other hand, there are so many shades of white to off white, that you can select which one is appropriate for the style of your decor, e.g. ivory white highlights best classic decorating style, while gray white adds sophisticated look to space, provides the perfect backdrop for artwork and gray white can be paired with pops of color in some details, such as decorative items, throws, etc.
