Reader’s question

"I would like your ideas on colors that would brighten my girls’ bedroom with no windows. The furniture is natural pine, the door is white lacquer and there is peanut green color carpet on the floor."

Our recommendation

If you like to get the feeling of brightness in your girls’ room you should choose light tones, some neutrals or off whites like peanut green or yellow, cream tone or pale pink.

Undertones on walls brighten the space and make it look larger and brighter.

If the room size allows, you can create narrow stripes on one or more walls in bright, bold colors.

Alternatively, a hand-painted mural can be designed on their favorite theme, to create a pleasant environment for your girls.
