The industrial heritage consisting of the multitude of industrial infrastructure during the Industrial Revolution and the years after played a prominent role in contemporary culture and society development as a cultural object, which needs recognition, preservation and development.

The previous weekend 15th-17th May 2015 buildings of great architectural interest opened their gates to the public in Athens. Thus, the public-not only residents of Athens but also visitors - was given a great opportunity of guided visits by volunteers in private and public buildings. Not only had they had the chance to realize the meaning and the value of architectural design, but also to find out more of Greek architecture. The city and its buildings appear different than in everyday routine.

The new Strasbourg's school of architecture is called Le fabrique, since it was built in a former industrial area in the east side of the city center. Until the construction of the new building the school was accommodated in an old building of 1950, known as Le garage. The architect and engineer of the project is Marc Mimram, known for the design and construction of several bridges.

“Tapas bar” was designed by Reizi Maria, an architect living and working in Greece. The available space was rather small, only 35m2. For this, it was decided to dismantle the loft, revealing two large glass windows that bring natural light into the space and increasing significantly the total height of the space to 5,50m. The concept of the design and decoration was based on Spanish culture, though the style should be industrial.
