"I would like some ideas for covering the outdoor floors of my house, such as patios, steps, and corridors around my house. The building was built during 70s and stands on seaview; it is recently renovated and painted an ocher-yellow color. The front porch railings are wrought iron. I have a small quantity polygonal grey slate and I would like to use it in combination with another flooring material. Moreover I would like your ideas on what color to paint the railings. The windows will be probably a green shade."
Our recommendation
We have to mention that we do not know the size and shape of your courtyard. The amount and shape of the slates you have are not known as well.
The type and colors of your house are harmonious combined with traditional flooring materials, such as
Slates in various shades of gray, squared or unshaped with mortar or grass joints
Natural cobbles as borders or joints between slates. You can also use grass paving blocks.
Ceramic tiles in various patterns in combination with the materials mentioned above.

Patterned stamped concrete resembling natural stones achieving a high quality look of traditional pavers.
Pebbles embedded into concrete in various patterns (terrazzo)

The railings could be painted in black, which matches the wall and windows colors and highlights the pattern of railings.
