Reader’s question
" I have a problem because lack of space and I would really appreciate your help. I have a small living room with a dining room nook area. What shape dining table would accommodate the maximum number of people? Does a corner sofa fit in the living room? Could we have a small low TV stand in the room? Thank you so much!”
Our recommendations
The amount of people that can be seated at each table depends on the shape and size of the dining table. The size and shape of the table must follow the shape of the room, a square or round table looks best in a room with equal dimensions, while the long tables work best in rectangular rooms.
We suggest you to choose a round table, as it is appropriate for the limited space of your dining room, but also it is very practical because it maximizes the number of people who can be seated. Guests can chat with each other and in case of more people they can easily be squeezed.
A 1.40 m diameter size round table, allowing free space between table and walls is at least 80cm all round would perfectly fit in your place.
In the living room you can choose a not bulky corner sofa simple in design to maintain the feeling of spaciousness. A light frame TV stand can be placed opposite the sofa.
