Nodus has introduced the Intrigue Japonaise collection, designed by Paolo Cappello: a carpet and a series of cushions that unite research (marrying metallic yarn to cashmere) to the Nepali tradition of embroidery, by repeating motifs from the Japanese theatrical illustration of the 18th century.

Intrigue Japonaise
Intrigue Japonaise is a collection of cushions, coordinated with a rug, designed for Nodus during one whole year. It is a cultural project, more than a decorative one, where the skill of Nepalese embroidery raises to the highest level of complexity to decorate pure cachemere cushions with figures from the 18th century Japanese theatre illustration, figures which were completely redesigned with an extremely articulated graphic pattern. A project that becomes a crossover of cultures where design had the role to create an actual dialog between distant worlds and experiences.
