“I have attached pictures of the counter top and the cabinet doors of my kitchen. I need help picking out kitchen backsplash tile. Could I choose mosaic tiles? I would like to go for a modern look in the area."

Our recommendation

The kitchen cabinet doors are dark oak horizontal grain. The kitchen counter is in a light shade with the effect of terrazzo.

What type of tiles to choose

A very interesting and modern idea which matches both the oak like horizontal grain surface and the counter top material is rectangular ceramic or glass tiles laid horizontally.

Assuming the tile color, you can choose either a monochrome scheme, i.e. white tiles or tiles of two different colors, i.e. white/off-white, beige/gray, etc. We suggest glossy tiles to add shine and brightness to the space.
