Reader’s question
"I need your help ..... Opening the front door we can see a wall which leads to the living/dining room. The walls are painted in vanilla white and the furniture pieces are in walnut stained wood in neoclassical style. At the entrance hall I would like to place a white commode. What paint color to choose for the entrance hall walls to pair nicely with the living room and the commode, as well? Thank you in advance."
Our recommendation
The color choice for the entry area depends on many characteristics of the place, such as its size, the brightness and the flooring material.
You mention that the furniture is neoclassical and the wall color is vanilla white.
Based on these data we seek colors in the neoclassical palette which includes soft pastel shades of blue, gray or purple. These shades accentuate the furniture and create a feeling of spaciousness and brightness and they are harmoniously combined with the vanilla color.
We propose a soft shade of purple or blue. These shades are well combined with vanilla color and add brightness to the space while they showcase extremely well the white commode.
Additionally we recommend a mirror above the console to add brightness, a feeling of spaciousness and compliment the decorating style.
