"I am remodeling my old style apartment which is classic regarding the plan and the decorating style. Could I paint the doors a light gray color instead of white? Is this color suitable for a baroque style furniture, paintings, etc? What paint color to choose for the walls in the living room and the bedroom? The furniture is brown and the living room set upholstery is mustard/gold. Thank you very much for your time!"

Our recommendation

We no information on the space dimensions, the openings and the floor materials. Considering that the floors are either marble or wood, we suggest three color schemes to pick. The selection depends on your color preferences.

1st option

A cool, pleasant shade of yellow/beige on the walls can be combined with a warm shade of brown grey on an accenting wall or focal point to create an interesting contrast.

The doors can be painted in a light, warm shade of gray instead of white.

2nd option

A warm earthy terracotta shade on a focal point of the area can be combined with a bright, pale pink to yellow on the other walls and doors can be painted in light gray as well.

3rd option

For a dynamic and cozy atmosphere in your living area we recommend the deep red color on a central part of the area, which can be combined with a grayish shade on the other walls and doors.
