“I am looking for decorating ideas for my bedroom and I hope you could help me. I have a white wardrobe and silver iron/wenge bed. I attach an image of the bed. I want to paint the wall behind the headboard purple and the others light gray. What is your opinion? What color curtains, rugs, duvet cover, bedspread etc. to choose? Could I add one more color? The curtain rods are silver."

Our recommendation

Gray–purple color scheme creates harmonic balance in the bedroom. You could use some color pops of a third color, such as Burgundy red, to give an air of elegance to the space.

You have many options for the wall behind the headboard: either you can paint it a purple shade, or apply purple patterned or gray-purple striped wallpaper.

Depending on the option for this wall, you will choose the other elements of the room, either gray curtains with purple drapery, gray duvet cover, or gray curtains with darker gray drapery, red Burgundy duvet cover.

If you choose dark gray wallpaper for the wall behind the headboard you can add color to the other elements of the space. Pick a rug in shades of dark or light gray, or purple color.
