“I have pretty much left my living room bare because I have no idea what to do with it. Lately it has become very depressing to say the least and I wish to change it. My sofa and loveseat are chocolate brown color, but I want to decorate using bright colors. My color choices vary but my favorite colors are orange, yellow and coral, so I would like to incorporate at least one of them in my new change. I am also into colors of India, if that makes any sense (like deep reds, greens etc.) I want a fun, but cozy, inviting room. A mix of bright and warm is okay as well. This is my first time ever decorating anything, so any help or suggestions would be great.”

If you like to repaint your walls we suggest you earthy tones, such as terracotta, coral, sand color, and orange.
If you don’t like a rich color on all walls, you can paint one wall a rich color (i.e. coral) and the rest walls a neutral color (i.e. sand color). The coral painted wall will become the focal wall.
You can select sari curtains in silk or familiar to silk fabric in terracotta color, or Indian patchwork curtains which will change the look of your room.

You can spice up your sofa and loveseat by getting throw pillows in rich colors, such as deep red, purple, orange accentuated with sequins or embroidered with gold thread.

Regarding the rug on the floor you can select a modern plain rug in deep purple, or red shade, or even in neutral beige color.
