Reader's question:
"In two months our second child arrives, a boy. The first child is a boy, 2,5 years old. The decoration of the room is inspired by Winnie and the walls are painted purple. Furniture and the wardrobe are painted in the tones of vanilla. Several elements (curtains, quilt, rug) have different colors like lime and blue. Next week we are planning to paint the room and we are thinking about the new colors. Colors that we like, are the purple, the lime, the light blue and the white. We want something happy, vivid and original."
Our advice:
The kid's room is painted purple with vertical stripes. The hues are warm (the purple is closer to red than to blue) and the style of the room cozy, warm but also a bit dark and probably depressing.
If you want to make a real change we would advise you to opt for a light, optimistic and vivid color that will make the room look exotic.
Two interesting and unusual options are the following
- Tropical turquoise
- Green parrot
Turquoise is a lively and powerful color. We suggest you to paint only one wall with this color and paint the rest of the walls light grey. You can also pick a neutral wallpaper (black and white) for the walls
Green parrot is a relaxing and a not so powerful color and you can paint the entire room with this color.
