Reader’s question
"I would like to ask your opinion about the flooring in my attic bathroom which has natural wood sloped ceiling. I would like to install ceramic tiles mimicking stone both on both the floor and the walls, but I was wondering if floor tiles should be in a color different than the wall tiles"
Our recommendation
The tile color options depend on the size of the bathroom, but mostly on its overall height and the color of the wood ceiling.
In the case of a light color painted wood ceiling, you could pick light color tiles for the walls and dark color tiles for the floor.
In the case of a dark color painted wood ceiling, you must pick the same tile on walls and the floor, preferably in α pale shade. You can also blend tiles of different size but of the same color on walls and the floor.
Additionally, you could pick tiles that mimic carved stone rather than tiles that mimic rough surfaced stone to create a relaxed atmosphere in your bathroom.
If the space allows, you can add a few natural pebbles for a spa-like bathroom.
