Reader’s question
"I would like some wallpaper ideas for the wall behind the couch and the staircase. I have already ordered it but I'm not sure about the result; for the wall behind the couch, I have chosen black wallpaper with some silver details and a black one with details in red for the wall behind the stairs. I would also need some ideas on how to warm the space. Please find attached pictures of the space. Thank you in advance!"

Our recommendation
Since you have already ordered the wallpaper, we will not suggest something different. The dominant colors in the space are white and black which are neutral colors. You have also chosen to add some pops of red (the red ottoman and red details in the wallpaper).
The materials are pretty cool (tiles, metal fixtures, furniture lacquer, etc).
Consequently, although the decor of your room is modern, simple and elegant, there is a sense of coolness in the space. However, you can add a few items that will "warm up" the area without affecting the minimal style that seems to have chosen.

• Lighting: You should place a dimmable floor lamp. Thus, you can both decrease the light level at your will and on the other hand you will create a corner for relaxation during evening hours.
Low lighting produced by a single light source produces theatricality and drama in the room and intense shadows, while it concentrates the glance in a small area around the light.
• Soft materials: Add decorative items, such as pillows or a cozy armchair of a soft material, i.e. wool. For example you can add a fleece bean bag chair. Regarding the colors we suggest olive green, brick red and warm orange.
• The rug: You should replace the existing rug with a larger one. Ideally the rug should be large enough to slide under the front legs of the sofa.
