Reader’s question

"I am renovating my bathroom. I would love to decorate it in Moroccan style. Could you please advise me on the bathroom floorplan layout and give me some decorating ideas? I’ve attached a floor plan sketch of the bathroom. The drain position is marked with a red dot."

Sanitaryware

The bathtub can be built-in or freestanding in an arched niche between two closets.

Two sink vanities with a cabinet between them are mounted on the wall opposite the bathtub niche. Above them we place mirrors, lanterns and other Moroccan style accessories.

A toilet set is also mounted on the wall opposite the bathroom entrance.

Tiles

Tiles are one of the key elements in Moroccan design, you must select hand-made tiles in Moroccan motifs to create a beautiful ethnic look in the bathroom. You can use them everywhere, floor, walls and counter tops in a mixture of different colors and sizes.

Colors

Ideal colors are deep, rich colors, such as blues, pinks, sand yellows, and purples. Paint the walls and ceiling in one color or more than two bright colors.

Accessories

You can place them almost everywhere in the bathroom. Pick brass or silver lanterns with jewel-color glass to create relaxing atmosphere, wall sconces by the mirrors.
