Our recommendations
If you need to place furniture in a long and narrow room you have to use tricks that will fool the eye regarding the dimensions of the room and alleviate the awkwardness caused by the room’s shape.
Room plan
The room is divided into three zones: storage, lounge-sleeping and studying.

Furnishings
The furniture should be solid, not bulky, discreet, in order to avoid elongating the appearance of the wall. The wardrobe, which is bulky, is placed adjacent to the door of the room away from the window.
Opposite the wardrobe is placed a small bedroom vanity with stool behind the headboard of the bed, and between them a full-length mirror on the long wall enlarges the room.
In the middle part of the room is arranged the lounge/sleeping area with a sofa bed along the long wall. The bed can have drawers built into the lower part or a lower mattress.

A nightstand is placed next to the bed and serves the function of a TV cabinet.
Two stools with a round table in front of the wall opposite the bed break the monotony.
In the study area you can place the desk along the narrow wall under the window to shorten length of the room.
Choosing wall colors
Paint the long walls a light color and the short dark. Thus, the dark walls will appear closer and will make the room look more proportional and wider.

Lighting
